Ken Loach wins Bafta and slams government’s brutal treatment of poor and refugees


The Tory government is ‘callous, brutal and disgraceful’ says Ken Loach after his film I, Daniel Blake wins the 2017 Bafta award for Outstanding British Film.

“…the most vulnerable and poorest are treated by the government with a callous brutality that’s disgraceful, a brutality that extends to keeping out refugee children we promised to help and that’s a disgrace too.”
